I flew down to Louisville yesterday. I hate flying with a fiery passion. I checked into my hotel and made my appearance at the meeting I needed to go to. Then I went back to my room and crashed for the night. I slept surprisingly well. I wasn't sure how easily I would sleep without my baby in bed with me. Or maybe I was just completely exhausted.

Today one of my kids competed her best event. I was worried about how she would do because she's been so bad during practice recently. As it turns out, she managed to settler herself down and do what she needed to do. She placed 3rd in her group and 8th overall. I'm *SO* proud of her! :)

Six Flags is literally next door the the competition venue. I had some free time this afternoon, so I decided to go even though I was alone. What I will say about the park is this: it's smaller than the one in Chicago but it wasn't anywhere near as crowded. The longest I waited in line was less than ten minutes. I went on every single ride I wanted to, all in less than three hours. The best was the Blizzard River. I got *soaked* head to toe. In the 90+ degree heat of Louisville, it was bliss. Tomorrow, I'm bringing my swimsuit and going to Hurricane Bay! :D

miridearie is too smart and too creative for my own good. As soon as she started crawling, she knew she wanted to stand up and start walking. I figure she'll be walking before the month is out. She has also started trying to climb out of her playpen. I've seen her pull up on the top rail and kick toys under her feet in order to gain the height to climb over the wall. I don't hold out much hope for keeping her in a crib or her playpen much longer.

I am very afraid.
